Nexie and friends

The artwork behind Norconex Crawler, and what you are welcome to do with it.

Meet Nexie

Nexie is the spider on the front of Norconex Crawler. Her name comes out of Norconex, and she is loosely a dock spider — the Canadian kind that reads the surface of a lake for anything worth chasing, then dives after it. Skim wide, go deep. It seemed to fit.

There is a longer version of that, including a word about Frank who came before her, in Meet Nexie.

Using these assets

Nexie, the Norconex name and the Norconex logo belong to Norconex, and they are not covered by the open-source licence that applies to the crawler's code and documentation.

You are very welcome to use the artwork when you are writing or speaking about Norconex Crawler — a blog post, a talk, a comparison, a conference slide. All we ask is that you use the files as they are rather than redrawing or restyling them, and that you do not use them in a way that suggests we built or endorsed something we did not.

Anything beyond that needs our agreement in writing first — merchandise, bundling Nexie into a product you sell, or making her part of your own branding. Get in touch through norconex.com/contact-us and tell us what you have in mind.

Looking for the Norconex company logo rather than Nexie? That one lives on norconex.com, along with the terms that go with it.
