Support

From a forum post to a signed SLA

Norconex Crawler is free and Apache-2.0 licensed. Two of the paths below are ways to get support โ€” free from the community, or under contract from us. The third is a way to give it. This page keeps them apart.

Commercial

Support with a contract behind it

For teams where a stalled crawl costs money. Formal agreements with direct invoicing, response times you can point at, and terms written for your environment rather than ours.

  • Response times you can rely onGuaranteed SLAs with legally backed response times for production-impacting incidents.
  • Configuration and architecture reviewWe go through your crawler configuration, memory footprint, and data flow design, then tell you what to change.
  • Direct access to the engineersTroubleshooting, planning, and rollout guidance from the people who write the crawler.
  • Procurement-ready termsCommercial terms that satisfy procurement, privacy, and tax requirements, including W-8BEN-E and Canadian corporate documentation.

Beyond support: professional services

Some teams need the work done rather than backed up. We take on crawl implementations, system integration, search applications, and custom ingestion pipelines โ€” scoped and quoted separately from a support agreement, and often alongside one.

Tell us what you are running

Use the contact form with the details listed here, or email sales@norconex.com directly. That is usually enough to scope an agreement without a first round spent on basics.

Open the contact form
  • Company name and primary contact
  • Email, team size, and deployment region
  • What you crawl today, and where it lands
  • Expected volume, schedules, and how critical the crawl is
  • What you need: troubleshooting, review, SLA, feature scoping, or training
  • Procurement, compliance, or invoicing requirements

Free

Ask the community

Everything happens in the open, and most questions get answered here at no cost โ€” by other users, and by us when we have the time. There is no guaranteed response, and that is the honest difference between this and a support agreement.

  • GitHub DiscussionsQuestions, configuration help, and ideas. The best place to start.
  • GitHub IssuesReproducible bugs and feature requests, tracked in the open.
  • DocumentationGuides, concepts, and the full component reference.

Giving back

Back the project

Most of it costs nothing, and the free parts are not a consolation prize โ€” they are how the project gets found and how the community track above stays useful.

  • Star the repositoryThe clearest public signal that a project is worth maintaining, and how a good number of people find it in the first place.Star on GitHub
  • Answer someone's questionFree support works because people answer each other. One reply from someone who hit the same problem last month is worth a great deal.Open Discussions
  • Contribute, or write about itFix a bug, sharpen the docs, or publish what you built. All of it makes the crawler easier for whoever comes next.Contributing guide

Sponsorship

Sponsorship funds the maintenance of software that stays free for everyone, and puts your name where the people using it will see it. It is not a support contract: no response times, no private channel, no committed engineering time. If you need those, that is the commercial track above.
