The crawler discovers changes by scanning/walking source inventory. In incremental runs, reference absence can contribute to orphan handling according to configured orphan strategy.

SOURCE_DELTA

The source provides explicit change/delete signals (delta feed). In incremental runs, reference absence is not authoritative and must not be treated as orphan evidence by itself.
